IMO it's not the 8" that is the volume issue as much as the watts. On average 150-200 is where you'll want to be to hang with a drummer with a little headroom. If you want a sweet sounding combo that can hang by itself and still take an extra cab I can't recommend enough the Ampeg BA210. I believe it's 230watts by itself ... ... more
