Part of why I asked (apart from curiosity and wanting to know what I have) is because I'm low-key GASing for an HH Stingray. My '93 Stingray is a 4 string, so it would have the alnico magnets; I'd like the same in a new MM style bass since I love the tone. It occurred to me that EBMM's confusing naming conventions may be throwing some of you off. Remember the "Sterling by MusicMan" Ray34 Series do NOT have the same neck as a USA Sterling. A USA Sterling has more of a Jazz/1.5" nut width neck, I believe. The Sterling by MusicMan line has its own neck, but it's more of a "Stingray" ... ... more
