That looks like a nice deal, BUT have you ever played with a strap that wide? I have a very nice 4" wide strap that I bought but it's unusable for me. The wide width irritates my neck. Just something to consider. That being said, if a 4.5" strap is for you, that looks sweet! ... more

Have you tried some of the newer straps for heavy basses....they really work. I have three different ones and they all work better on different basses. They help a lot with my heavier 96 Stingray and boat anchor 77 Jazz. [link] [link] [link] ... more
Good strap suggestions. I've used wide leather straps and a couple of different neoprene straps that work well with my Stingray (and my even heavier L-2500). One thing I found with neoprene straps is that some "bounce" more than others. The ComfortStrapp bounced too much for me, but I really like the Neotech that you linked ... ... more

I've tried a couple neoprene style straps and the bounce was a little bothersome. Also the 4" straps cut into my neck a little. I would try to deal with the weight, rather than some extreme mod...they make straps for heavy bass's that really help. I have a Rockready UltraStrap 3.5 Guitar Strap and a Levy's Leathers 4 inch, both really help for long gigs and multiple 1 hr sets. ... more
