Silk Strings

These 100% Silk strings are multiple-plyed for use on bowed and plucked Classical Double Bass, and other large instruments. As they wear, the fine threads are drawn to the interior of each ply rather than fuzzing up. Each Silk String is over 62&quot; long These strings are made to order, so a multiple order may take a couple of weeks to fill. Originally I made these strings for Bassist Korneel Le Compte as a special project. He had these words to say: &quot;So far the results have been very positive. I just love the sound of silk. It&#39;s thinner, reedier than gut. The harmonics just jump out of the instrument. The sound is a bit hoarse, which makes it very, very human-like. It&#39;s an acquired taste for sure, but once you get used to it, it&#39;s extremely addictive.&quot; &quot;Playing comfort is just wonderful, the most comfortable strings I know. They really invite you to carress them, they make me play with more sensitivity. Especially since they&#39;re so responsive in the highest portion of frequencies. If you play carelessly, they will protest by screaching.  Very educational...they demand full attention and concentration but they reward you with a unique sound world.&quot;
