Underground Accelerator
Description
The Underground Accelerator is the successor to both Particle Accelerator and London Underground.Neither were perfect, but both had strengths that the other didn't so, Underground Accelerator takes the best of both into one glorious preamp. It follows the same general structure of the London Underground, letting it get a little more grit than Particle Accelerator, but still keeping the deep low end that London Underground lacked.
It sounds great as a clean boost or mild overdriv

Live I'm using a @Sushi Box FX Underground Accelerator tube preamp as it has the warmth and tone controls I prefer. [image] For recording I'm using a combination of a Sushi Box Particle Accelerator, Southampton Ictineo, Lightning Boy LBA 2020 Transformer and a Sushi Box Finally Tube DI. Look at the @Sushi Box FX Finally Tube DI or the Space Heater both use the the gain profiles you like and no tone stack. If you do want a tone stack the Underground Accelerator is brilliant. ... more

I had the Underground Accelerator, and it was pretty good, but i couldn't get it flat. The 2-10-2 trick had a noticable low end roll off that i couldn't EQ out. I have seen the Space Heater, though. I'm just curious if it's actually frequency flat or if it has a low end roll off. And i've seen Catalinbread stuff (i owned ... ... more

If you are looking to replace your amp then you should consider a preamp/DI that mimics your preferred amp sound, that way you will always have that sound no matter where you go. For example I like the sound of a tube Fender Bassman amp and tube DI so I use a @Sushi Box FX Underground Accelerator preamp and Finally DI. ... more

Not to step on anybody's toes, but if the Noble sounds comparable to the Subway, I'll have one for sale in about three weeks. I did try the Subway pedal and it did nothing for me. It works. You get a usable sound. The Noble - I have to rely on others here because I ordered mine in September and still have some waiting to ... ... more

I have been a long time fan and user of amp in a box pedals luckily there are quite a few to choose from. @dedpool1052 mentioned two popular makers. As far as I know nobody is doing anything quite like the Redhead, SWR or EDEN amps that includes their Enhance, Compression and particular EQ circuitry. I am really loving ... ... more

The only pedal I can recall that ever sounded close was the Demeter BEQ-PB EQ Preamp. I really love this as the classic studio bass sound of the 80's through 2000's capturing headroom and tone voicing used on most of the solid state racks and amps of the day like the Yamaha, Ashley, Rane, Peavey, Trace Elliott as well as ... ... more

Hi @Nobis17 three nice pedals to start with there, awesome filters and the Helix covers a lot of ground. The Helix should cover any modulation, delay and reverb needs you have as well as EQ or compression unless you want something special there. Even though I am old school I have grown to choose digital pedals because they ... ... more
