My personal tonal experience using the Sennheiser e 604 as a mounted mic has been excellent. This mic comes with a drum mount which can be removed and the bolt used for standard mounting. As I mentioned in post #12, most attempts at picking up tone from a banjo with a piezo result in a very UN-acoustic sound, like, a very pinched electric guitar or even a sitar.
