I'd be surprised if the neck left any factory with no finish whatsoever, probably some kind of sealer anyway. I'll do my broken record routine and recommend Stewmac Fingerboard oil. Its a thin penetrating oil of some kind that dries pretty hard in the wood without leaving a thick plastic-y finish. The more coats, the shinier it gets, kinda like Tru Oil, but dries much faster and harder. It just looks.like a freshly oiled board, ... ... more
