Try it with the EXT-Amp plugged into the DI and see how the amp does. A decrease in volume at the speaker indicates an impedance problem. It won't hurt the amp to use it that way. ... ... more

From the Countryman Type 85 FAQs: The TYPE 85 is so well protected it can handle the full output of any amp without damage.
