This was the one leading the pack for me when I Started thinking of this. The only thing is that if you turn it on, the 1/4" is NOT bypassed... it is colored by the preamp. I confirmed that with Dunlop on Tech Support this morning. But I may be more willing to make that compromise. ... more

As an audio tech, I generally prefer for bass to be plugged into a flat DI; so I get the original unprocessed tone of the bass. An added benefit, from my perspective, is this allows the bass player to make volume and tone changes with his/her amp without changing the signal that is sent to FOH (front of house). That's what I do. Keeley Bassist into either an MXR M81 (transparent and small) or a SansAmp BDDI (nice tube emulation but a little bigger - a better choice for sound).
