The best option is to swap the blend pot with an EMG ABC: ABC It's a two channel active buffer on a tiny pcb soldered directly to a blend pot, so it's basically a drop-in replacement for a passive blend pot (assuming it fits). You just connect your wiring pickup wiring and existing 9v battery and you're all set. ... more

Your luthier used an M/N blend pot, which is the correct one for this application, so that's good. The A/C taper blend pots give you 50/50 in the center, but the M/N give you 100/100.
