GHS Brite Flats are made by grinding the outer winding of roundwounds to a smooth flat finish. Brite Flat Bass Strings are made of Ground Roundwound Alloy 52 strings and is just as easy on your frets and fingers as flatwound strings. Brite Flats offer a sound darker than rounds, but brighter than flatwound strings.

Another suggestion is GHS Brite Flats, which are Alloy 52 (nickel-iron) half-rounds (groundwound). The nice thing about half-rounds is they're naturally stiffer in feel than typical roundwound and the Brite Flats come in relatively hefty gauges for short scale, 49-62-84-108.
