I recently changed out the body on my P-bass, which was a MIM body that felt like it weighed 10 lbs. for a very cheap ($30) body I bought on Walmart.com that weighs 2.53 lbs. Most tuners are 3/8". 1/2" ones are usually recommended for thicker and/or heavier strings, like flatwounds. Not sure if you've bought new tuners yet, but here's the size difference between 3/8" Hipshot Ultralites, and Gotoh Resolites in the same size. The Gotoh bushings and posts are definitely bigger (the all-black ones ... ... more
